Silicon Canvas' Laker™ Selected by Divio for its MPEG-4 and other Multimedia Chip Designs

SAN JOSE, Calif. - May 9, 2003 -- Silicon Canvas, Inc. (SCI), today announced that Divio, a Sunnyvale California based multimedia chip design company, has selected Silicon Canvas Laker for its MPEG-4, DV, MJPEG and any future multimedia chip designs. The company will use Laker in post Place & Route (P&R) to view and fix DRC and LVS violations. This will ensure design success and shorten time-to-market on very complex multimedia integrated circuits.

"As a pioneer in integrated digital video chip designs, we are constantly looking for innovative tools to enhance our design flow and to help us stay on top of the competitive curve", said Frank Lin, CAD director at Divio, "we are most impressed by Laker's ability to very efficiently handle our complex multimillion gate video chips. Laker's tight integration with the verification tool, the super fast pan & zoom display engine, and its innovative net tracer help us trace down any physical design issues quickly and apply the modification very efficiently." "Divio designs some of the world's most advanced multimedia chips. We are very pleased to be able to enhance their design flow", said Dr. Hau-Yung Chen, president at Silicon Canvas.

"Laker's high performance and optimized DB engine is a key component to handle the complex and big design efficiently. Together with many innovative and powerful editing features, Laker proves to be an indispensable post P&R tool, which can reduce iterations and shorten the time to market significantly."
